Alternative-play aims to create inclusive and supported educational environments for students at lunchtime. Extra resources, play equipment and supervision are provided to help our learners establish new relationships and build on their interests and passions.
Alternative-play offers a vast range of activities, open-ended tasks and play-based opportunities for students to communicate, connect and engage with diverse students and educators. Students have a choice in the program that suits their interests. We understand that the schoolyard can be a challenging space for many of our learners to navigate. The initiative is aimed at all students, is inclusive of developmental and social challenges, disabilities and students that are looking for a more interest-based approach to play.
